In June, we told you about some new additions at the new Beaufort Station Shopping Center, and now there’s yet another addition. Panda Express will also be setting up shop in town, its first location in Beaufort County.
According to its website, Panda Express is an American fast food restaurant chain that specializes in American Chinese cuisine; a combination of Chinese roots with an American taste. With over 2,200 locations, and 16 in South Carolina, it is the largest Asian-segment restaurant chain in the United States, where it was founded, and is mainly located in North America and Asia.
First opened in California back in 1983, Panda Express also employs nearly 40,000, and is a casual, fast-food variation of corporate sibling Panda Inn, which is a chain of upscale, table service restaurants.
Panda Express will join a list of tenants at the new Beaufort Station, a 209,250 square foot shopping center with outparcels on the corner of Robert Smalls Parkway and Paris Island Gateway.
It was announced in June that 5 additional tenants were coming, including Parkers Kitchen, Chicken Salad Chick, Surcheros Fresh Mex, Mattress Warehouse, and America’s Best; joining the previously confirmed anchor tenants Aldi Grocery Stores, PetSmart, TJ Maxx, Home Goods, Five Below, and Rack Room Shoes, Hobby Lobby, Ross Dress for Less, Ulta Beauty, and Old Navy.
