Popular February BBQ festival switched to fall event

Beaufort’s outdoor festival season always starts in February with folks enjoying two days of food, music and fun with wings, barbecue, craft beers, live music and kids’ activities at the popular Bands Brews & BBQ festival in Port Royal.

Not in 2021.

The event’s organizers at Friends of Caroline Hospice have announced on Tuesday that they will be pushing the festival back until November, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a release on Tuesday morning, Friends of Caroline Hospice said, “As we continue to follow guidelines set by the Center for Disease Control, Executive Orders by the Governor of the state of South Carolina, and ordinances by our local county government and municipalities, [we] would like to announce the 2021 Bands, Brews & BBQ will take place November 12 & 13. We look forward to celebrating with you on Paris Avenue in Port Royal.”

The fun February event is also an official South Carolina Barbecue Association sanctioned event which always kicks off the statewide competitive BBQ season each year.

As we leave 2020, we see that there will be some lingering effects in 2021 as well. We look forward to normalcy, and we look very forward to the Bands Brews & BBQ festival this coming November.
