A popular local Beaufort SC destination has temporarily closed its restaurant doors.

Located at 1216 Boundary St , Blacksheep has recently cited “escalating supply chain challenges” as the reasoning for the restaurant’s closure, with reservations currently on hold, according to LOCAL Life Magazine.

However, the small upscale eatery plans to reopen soon with a brand new concept featuring gourmet hot dogs and adult snow cones. Teasing the changes ahead, Blacksheep’s Instagram bio now reads, “Blacksheep x Sabbatical… Coming Soon.”

Established in 2020, Blacksheep is a small, local two-person Beaufort operation run solely by chef/owner Matt Wallace and general manager Krista Duffy. Renowned for its unpretentious take on international cuisine and desserts with a great deal of locally sourced ingredients, the popular restaurant offers a rotating menu of ten items complemented by a curated beer and wine selection.

Wallace told What Now Charleston that the new project is still in its early stages, promising more details very soon.

we absolutely hate when a local Beaufort restaurant closes its doors, and we are definitely looking forward to Blacksheep’s reopening so we can discover what’s new.
