Lady’s Island has been growing quite a bit over the past few years, and even in 2024. Now the Island will be growing even more as a new stand-alone Starbucks is planned for a site along Sea Island Parkway.
Yes. Starbucks. On Lady’s Island. Sounds weird, and a bit out of place, doesn’t it?
Not these days.
There’s been lots of growth. First, Publix moved across the street a few years ago. Then WalMart and its adjacent shoping center happened. Then Wendy’s appeared. Then Harris Teeter started building in the old Publix spot. Then an Auto Zone popped up, followed by a discount tire store going in right next to it.
Now, a Starbucks. Actually, one of two.
Carolina Retail Experts, a Charleston-based commercial real estate company, said on Twitter that they represented Starbucks in securing the new location at Sea Island Parkway and Ferry Road on Lady’s Island in Beaufort SC.

The spot is currently a wooded area across from both South State Bank and Sea Island Carts, a local golf cart dealer.
There is no time frame on the construction of the new spot. Reports form the Island Packet say that Beaufort County’s Planning and Zoning Department have given conceptual approval to the site plan and final approval is still needed before construction can begin.

This project will be developed on three lots that will ultimately be consolidated into one lot and consists of constructing a 2,497 SF one-story coffee shop with dual rear-loaded drive through lanes for a 22 space queue. The coffee shop building has an attached 821 SF covered patio on one end and a covered 300 SF service yard on the other end and also includes a separate 200 SF one-story employee station, two pergola structures on the property corners, landscaping, raingarden, lighting, decorative walls, dumpster enclosure, parking & services drives and associated infrastructure.
This will (soon to be) the third Starbucks in the Beaufort area. One is located at Beaufort Town Center, at 2007 Boundary Street, the other is planned inside the new Harris Teeter Supermarket, and this one will be within walking distance of the other.
