The Kitchen to open second location in Beaufort

For the second time in a year, The Kitchen, Beaufort’s favorite gourmet-to-go spot, has announced plans to grow way beyond its current location at 136 Sea Island Parkway in the Grayco Shopping Center.

And, just like last summer when they doubled their location size by acquiring the building next door, their plans are again, pretty hefty.

Look for a second location to open at the Beaufort Station Shopping Center.

According to a post on Facebook, plans are to open in late 2026 or early 2027, in a spot next to Surchero’s Tex Mex near the new ALDI supermarket at the shopping center.

Unlike their expansion last year on Lady’s Island which grew their retail offerings and their menu, added a coffee shop with tons of seating and tables for in-house event space, and the expanded the kitchen cooking and prep area, The Kitchen has announced this new spot will be more of a grab and go store.

“Right now, we’re bringing it back to our roots with the grab & go that started it all over a decade ago,” the post said.

Founded in 2013 by Leigh Ann Pingree and her sister, Michelle Clark, The Kitchen is known for its home-cooked, family-style gourmet meals with everything made in-house. Getting its start in a small space in the Newpoint neighborhood on Lady’s Island in 2013, the operation grew and after 6 years in Newpoint, it moved to it’s current location on Sea Island Parkway.

Now, it’s time to grow again with the addition of the Beaufort Station location.

Expect the new spot to be full of their popular and delicious quick grab items including their gourmet pizzas, salads, desserts, breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees, soups, dips, and breads and baked goods; along with those local favorites including homemade shrimp & grits, boiled peanuts, homemade pimento cheeses and lots more.
