With the usual large St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Savannah cancelled this year, the new Plant Riverside District has announced plans for a super-fun 6 day festival to celebrate the festive holiday in downtown from March 12th through the 17th called the Shamrocks and Shenanigans Festival.
The festival is expected to draw thousands of participants to the new spot on River Street, home to rooftop bars, fancy eateries and eclectic shops, and will offer live music, fountain shows, Irish music and dancing, food, drink and lots more.
Plant Riverside is going it alone with the event since the City of Savannah St. Patrick’s Day events have been canceled all around town to stay on the side of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Attendees to the big festival can enjoy traditional Irish music, lots of live music every day including party bands, fountain shows featuring the Savannah Children’s Choir, and plenty of typical River Street action in the Biergarten.
The kids can even enjoy getting their photo taken with a Leprechaun.
