Every year, the Annual Beaufort Water Festival starts off with a bang on Friday night with a fireworks celebration over the Beaufort River, and the 68th annual event was no different, with a fantastic fireworks display that followed an opening ceremony and concert that was attended by thousands.
After a late start of about 90 minutes due to some pretty intense thunderstorms, boats dotted the river as the Parris Island Marine Band performed throughout the evening after remarks were made by this year’s Commodore, Josh Schott, to officially kick off the festival.
This year’s 10-day festival, perpetually held at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort, will, as always, feature tons of live entertainment and concerts, dozens of vendors and super fun activities every single day from now through Sunday, July 21st.

The Beaufort Water Festival continues on Saturday with a host of sporting events including raft races, sporting events, working shrimp boat tours, a children’s fishing tourney and the annual Saturday concert in the park featuring country music performers, Parmalee.
