We’re looking for volunteers ages 18 years and older to help and/or lead saltwater family fishing clinics and participate in SCDNR fishing related outreach programs. These programs include:
-Saltwater Family Fishing Clinics: Volunteers lead/co-lead saltwater fishing clinics from shore, docks, piers, or the surf.
-Walk the Pier/Dock Program: Volunteers walk designated fishing piers/docks answering fishing related questions, relaying SCDNR best fishing practices and passing out SCDNR fishing related publications.
-Assist with Kids Fishing Tournaments, Kids Fishing Rodeos, and Fishing-Related Events
Volunteers from all along the South Carolina coast are welcome. We provide training, supplies and support. This training will be a virtual training as we’ve had a lot of success in the past. Volunteers are required to participate in this training in order to volunteer with this program. Please sign up to take this virtual instructor training class. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email with the links to the GoToMeeting and how to set it up.
Details for the program are below:
-You must take the virtual instructor training course offered by SCDNR
-You must pass a SLED background check
-You must participate in at least 2 fishing events a year
If you have any other questions about the program or can’t make the training, but are still interested in volunteering, please email Pamela at corwinp@dnr.sc.gov.
