The South Carolina State Park system is hosting a weekend at Hunting Island Beach just for women. If you enjoy the coastal outdoors they you’ll be sure to enjoy a girls-only three day weekend at the Women’s Coastal Skills Clinic.

Attendees get to experience the Lowcountry lifestyle through 11 interactive programs including kayaking, crabbing, throwing a cast net, a lighthouse program and much more.

Yes, you may learn to throw a cast net better than he does and it’s the perfect way to escape with your girlfriends for the weekend full of outdoor fun. Learn lots of cool stuff and then enjoy a dinner of Frogmore Stew on Friday and an Oyster Roast on Saturday.

Overnight accommodations are your responsibility, but you can reserve a campsite and make it a true outdoor weekend. To bring your tent or RV, make a reservation at 843-838-2011.

Call 843-838-7437 to make a reservation for the Women’s Coastal Skills Clinic. This program is designed for females ages 16 and older. Reserve your spot early as it is limited to 30 participants.

  • April 26th, 27th & 28th
    Friday 3pm-9pm, Saturday 9am-9pm, Sunday 9am-noon.
  • Meeting Place: Pier at Nature Center
  • What to Bring: Flashlight, comfortable walking shoes, boots and clothes that can get wet and muddy, insect repellent, sunscreen, and binoculars if you have them (some will be available if you don’t).
