The Rotary Club of Beaufort, the oldest of Beaufort’s three Rotary Clubs, donated a Little Library to the City last week. The new Little Library is located at the Washington Street Park at the corner of Washington and Newcastle Streets in the Northwest Quadrant of the city.
The library was built by Rotarian Steve Lanier, and installed by employees of the City of Beaufort Public Works Department on April 25th.
You can find these little free libraries all over the Beaufort and Port Royal Areas. In a movement that has gone on for a few years now, these free book exchanges help to inspire a love of reading, building community and sparking creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world.
Through Little Free Libraries, millions of books are exchanged each year, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds.
