Netflix has renewed the breakout young adult series β€œOuter Banks” for a second season and the call for extras is officially out with filming to begin in Charleston, SC on Monday, August 31st.

On Thursday afternoon, the show’s casting recruiter, Tyler Woodell of TW Cast & Recruit told us that the official call for extras is out.

“Though we will have a great need for teens and young adults, there will be plenty of opportunities for all ages to work on the production throughout the duration of filming,” Woodall said.

Filming is expected to take a few months, and there is no indication that Hunting Island or the lighthouse will be in the show this season, and as of now, all filming is scheduled to be in Charleston.

Just like casting for season one, the pay rate is $80 for 8 hours and time and a half for every hour that exceeds the 8th.

“If you are interested in becoming a paid extra for OBX Season 2, please follow the public
facebook page TW Cast And Recruit where you can find instructions on how to submit and receive more information,” Woodall said.

β€œOuter Banks” stars Chase Stokes (John B.), Madelyn Cline (Sarah Cameron), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Rudy Pankow (JJ), Austin North (Topper), Drew Starkey (Rafe Cameron), Deion Smith (Kelce) and Charles Esten (Ward Cameron). All are set to reprise their roles for season two, according to Netflix.

The series, which tells the coming-of-age story of a tight-knit group of Outer Banks teens and involves a treasure hunt, was created by Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke, who will all return as executive producers.

Season 1 of Netflix β€œOuter Banks” premiered April 15th and featured the lighthouse at Hunting Island State Park as well as several Charleston locations on-screen, including local beaches, Shem Creek, Kiawah Island Golf Resort and the Charleston Maritime Center.

Filming last May on Hunting Island stirred a bit of a buzz in the Beaufort area when a call went out for paid extras. Several local teens and younger adults were cast in the show by the time the filming wrapped up on Beaufort’s sea islands.
