Here comes the cold. Yes, it gets cold, even here in beautiful Beaufort and the National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for the area on Tuesday night. Brr!
Temperatures are expected to go as low as 28 degrees inland and 31 degrees along the southeastern South Carolina coast, including Beaufort.
The NWS advises that temperatures could be cold enough to kill crops and certain types of plants, and could also damage any unprotected outdoor plumbing.
And, don’t forget to bring those pets inside tonight. Please.
It’s a good idea to bring in any sensitive plants and to cover any outdoor plants as well, to protect them from frost. Outdoor pipes should be wrapped, drained or allowed to drip slowly to prevent freezing or bursting.
The Freeze Watch is in effect from Tuesday evening at 10p, through Wednesday morning at 10am.
Stay warm, Beaufort.
