Memorial Day is fast approaching and the Beaufort National Cemetery is looking for volunteers to assist in placing flags at every one of the nearly 22,000 grave sites within its brick walls.

Beaufort National Cemetery is coordinating the placing of the flags on Thursday, May 23rd and Friday, May 24th.

Individuals can volunteer or groups can get together and help out. School and church groups, scout troops and other groups and volunteer organizations are encouraged to come out.

Flag placing starts around 9am and will end around 6pm on both days. Flags are provided by the National Cemetery.
